What happens after the initial contact by email or phone

We arrange a mutually convenient time for me to visit you at home to work out the logistics and requirements.

We may not need to observe the full schedule set out below.          (Page updated July 2025)

First home visit

You will very likely want relatives or friends to be present too and I welcome that. This stage can easily take an hour or more. If everything is satisfactory we can then arrange the photography session.

If for some reason it is not possible to undertake suitable photography it will be disappointing for us both but we we will part good friends and there is absolutely no charge.

My priority is to strike a happy and respectful rapport with everybody concerned.

Second home visit for the photography

This visit is likely to take more than an hour. I will need to set up lighting and background according to the exact circumstances and make sure everyone is relaxed about it all.

It is likely that I will take a large number of pictures in order to get exactly the right one. You will be able to see the pictures at the time for you to approve of them.

It should be an enjoyable process.

What images do I provide for you

You will be able to choose up to 3 of the best images. This number is just a suggestion. Any number is possible.

You will have these on a memory stick to use in any way you wish.

I will supply three A4 prints, three A5 prints and 6 10x15 cm prints as standard. You can of course order any number for an extra charge. Or you may make your own arrangements using the memory stick images.

I use the best quality paper and inks on an inkjet printer.

What does it cost?

The normal cost is £100 for each  of the two visits and £50 for the images including prints. £250 in total.

There may be some variation according to circumstances.

Any kind of picture can be produced for you. For larger or framed pictures there is an extra cost.

I am completely flexible about costs and happy to consider any specific requirements.
